“Join or Die” Documentary Screening & Community Club Fair

Legendary social scientist Robert Putnam’s research in the Join or Die documentary highlighted social connection and community involvement as the #1 factor for a healthy, thriving society and happy, meaningful life! It fundamentally takes the care, concern, interest and kindheartedness of a village … and LGBTQ+ Newton members are building this together!

Patrons and group organizers alike gathered on Saturday, May 2 at West Newton Cinema, 1296 Washington Street to watch the screening, and then attend the Community Club Fair to learn about the many opportunities to join like-minded or hobby/interest focused clubs and groups.

LGBTQ+ Newton tabled at the event and was delighted to receive a welcoming reception by many of the attendees, especially allies who said, “I’m so happy to know you exist, I will have to tell my friend … niece … trans-neighbor …!”
