LGBTQ+ Newton Presents “Searching Archives 101” with Grace Millet

On October 20, LGBTQ+ Newton member Grace Millet presented “Searching Archives 101” at the Newton Free Library, co-sponsored by the Newton’s Dept. of Older Adults. Grace is an archivist and introduced eager learners to Northeastern University Archives and Special Collections (NUASP). She taught basic skills on how to research repositories for historical records and queer collections such as from the former non-profit organization ACT UP. Grace gave an awesome presentation on the treasure trove of queer history at our fingertips! John Mazzullo, MD, another group member, finds himself represented within the historical timestamp, along with his colleagues at the Aids Action Committee 1982-1984 documents that Grace shared with the group. How exciting!
